No. 22 Tigers top Wildcats

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Johnson & Wales University women's lacrosse team was unable to knock off an unbeaten Colorado College team on Tuesday night.

The No. 22 Tigers moved to 12-0 with a 20-2 win over the visiting Wildcats at Washburn Field in the first meeting between the two Colorado programs.

Freshman Madisyn Tulenchik (Victoria, MN) accounted for both of JWU's goals in its first-ever SCAC conference game. Tulenchik now has multiple goals in four of her last five games.

CC out-shot JWU 20-3 in the first half and built a 12-1 advantage at the break. CC totaled 20 more shots in the second half and finished with a 21-10 edge in ground balls and a 19-4 difference in draw controls.

Freshman Sirena Borja (San Diego, CA), senior Katie Smith (Livermore, CA) and freshman Julianna Lozada (Poway, CA) each had two ground balls for the Wildcats (2-8). Freshman Brigid McCollam (New Fairfield, CT) made nine saves.

JWU hits the road this weekend for a matchup Friday vs. the University of Saint Mary followed by a tilt Saturday against Rockhurst.
