Women's lacrosse falls to Colorado College in SCAC Championship tournament

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Johnson & Wales University women's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2019 season Saturday with a 22-1 loss to Colorado College in the semifinals of the SCAC Championship tournament.

Freshman Madisyn Tulenchik (Victoria, MN) scored on a free position shot at the 20:17 mark of the second half for the No. 4 seed Wildcats (2-13). Tulenchik's 28 goals set a new single season program record.

Six different players scored two goals for the No. 1 seed Tigers (16-1), who advanced to face Southwestern in Sunday's SCAC Championship game. 

Senior Katie Smith (Livermore, CA) and junior Ashley Guerrero (Downey, CA) came up with three ground balls each for JWU Denver freshman Trent Flanagan (Windermere, FL) made five saves in 28-plus minutes of playing time.

Smith, Guerrero, Jochelyn Suglio (Orlando, FL) and Jennifer Aragon (Tyler, TX) finished with one draw control each.
