DENVER - The Johnson & Wales University women's lacrosse team was unable to slow down a determined Fort Lewis squad Sunday, falling 23-2 to the visiting Skyhawks at Shea Stadium.
Sophomore Jochelyn Suglio and Ashley Guerrero both scored an unassisted goal to put the Wildcats on the board in the second half. Sophomore Sirena Borja led JWU with three ground balls while Suglio finished with a team-high four shots.
Suglio's score came at the 20:11 mark for her eighth of the season, followed four minutes later by a free-position tally by Guerrero, running her team-high total on the season to 11. Sophomore Brigid McCollam made 12 saves for the hosts, her fourth double-digit save performance of 2020.
Hallie Marker scored four times to lead Fort Lewis, who totaled 42 shots and went 9-for-16 on free-position chances.
