At the other end, the Tiger's leading scorer Isabel Sierra saw her shot blocked in the 6th minute by Emily Smith (Westminster, Colo.). Sierra sent another shot high before finding the equalizer in the ninth minute.

Asianna Harris (Las Vegas, Nev.) saw her attempt in the 18th minute deflect off the crossbar. Bougher made the save on an attempt by Smith in the 21st minute. Brock put JWU up 2-1 in the 25th minute, putting a pass from Flores past Bougher. Katelyn Peters (Brighton, Colo.) made her first save of the game in the 26th minute on an attempt by Jaclyn Carranza.

After 90 minutes of action, the game went into sudden victory overtime with neither side seeing much offense in the first overtime period. In the second overtime, Kassidy McKevitt (Fort Collins, Colo.) had her shot blocked by a Tiger defender and CCC sent two shots wide.
