Strong second half carries Ladies past Wildcats

DENVER – A hot start to the second half by Centenary College lifted the visiting Ladies to a 4-1 victory over the Johnson & Wales University women's soccer team on Sunday at Aurora Sports Park.

Sydnee Hart scored her first collegiate goal for JWU Denver on a beautifully placed deep ball in the 44th minute, tying the match at 1-all heading to halftime. But it was all Ladies (5-0-0) in the second half as Centenary scored a pair of goals in the opening 12 minutes of the second frame to take a 3-1 lead on tallies by Betzabet Bravo and Kyra Montes.

Ariel Muller capped the scoring for the visitors in the final minute.

JWU senior goalkeeper Katelyn Peters faced eight shots and made four saves for the Wildcats (2-4-0).

Centenary finished with a 15-3 advantage in total shots and held JWU without an attempt in the final 45.

The Wildcats return to action Friday at Southwestern.
