GEORGETOWN -- A late goal by senior Natasha Martin gave the Wildcats a chance late, but ultimately the Johnson & Wales University women's soccer team couldn't overcome a relentless Southwestern attack in a 2-1 loss Friday night.

Martin beat Pirate goalkeeper Mary Cardone to the left in the 76th minute to cut the deficit in half for her sixth goal of the season. The Wildcats were unable to threaten any further, falling to 2-6 on the season.

JWU Denver senior goalkeeper Katelyn Peters was under constant pressure as the hosts tallied 28 total shots. Peters did all she could to keep her team in it by making 11 saves, including eight in the second half.

The Wildcats wrap up their weekend road trip Sunday at Texas Lutheran.
