Wildcats can't complete comeback vs. St. Thomas

HOUSTON, TX - The Johnson & Wales University women's soccer team wrapped up a weekend road trip with a 2-1 loss at St. Thomas on Sunday.

The host Celts (4-3-1, 1-0) scored once in each half to deny the Wildcats (2-9, 0-2) their first conference victory of the season.

Senior Natasha Martin scored on a penalty kick in the 68th minute to get JWU on the board to cut the deficit in half, but the Wildcats were unable to find the late equalizer. Martin now has seven goals this season to rank second in the SCAC.

Senior Katelyn Peters made six saves while the Wildcats totaled five shots on goal, including three by Martin and one each by sophomores Brieana Caggiano and Katherine Owings
