'Cats compete at Colorado Open

Johnson & Wales continued their 2017 indoor season on Saturday at the University of Colorado's Open Invitational in Boulder.

In the 60 meter event, Kelci Freeman (Ramona, Calif.) finished the event in 18th at 8.80. The day continued in the 200 meter with Ashley Jackson (Denver, Colo.) leading the Wildcats with a finish of 26.74 in 16th place. Catherine Carbeck (Phoenix, Ariz.) crossed the line at 28.38 and Freeman finishe dat 29.97. 

In the 400 meter, Carbeck finished 24th at 1:04.15 followed by Jackson in 26th at 1:05.11. Samantha Barela (Colorado Springs, Colo.) finished 8th in the 5,000 meter event with a time of 19:53.79 followed by Olivia Redmann (Englewood, Fla.) in 13th at 20:50.11. 

On the field side, Katie Malachinski (Stevensville, Mont.) cleared 1.51 meters in the high jump. 

The Wildcats will head to southern Colorado next weekend when they travel to Alamosa for the Adams State University Invitational.
