BOULDER – The Johnson & Wales University women's track and field team opened the 2019 outdoor season Saturday at the Jerry Quiller Classic hosted by the University of Colorado.
Coach Chris Sandefur used the early-season meet at Potts Field more as a training day than a competition.
The Wildcats competed in just two events – the 400- and 1,500-meter runs.
Junior Catherine Carbeck won Heat 1 of the 400 with a time of 1:04.94. Freshman Virginia Gautier finished second in the heat at 1:06.05 while Rebecca Brock was next with a time of 1:09.02.
Brock led the Wildcats in the 1,500, placing 18th overall in 5:50.37. Morgan Sauer finished 19th in 6:09.13 while Tegan Gutka was 20th in 7:24.58.
