JWU women's track runs at UCCS Invite

COLORADO SPRINGS - The Johnson & Wales University women's track & field team wrapped up the 2019 calendar year Saturday at the Colorado Running Company UCCS Invite. 

Freshman Mikayla Hummons posted a pair of top 35 performances, placing 23rd in the 200-meter run in 28.35 and finishing 34th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.40. 

Senior Catherine Carbeck finished in the top 40 in both races, placing 40th in the 60 in 8.65 and 26th in the 200 in 28.93. Freshman Jenny Seda earned a 29th place finish in the 200 with a time of 30.36 and added a 42nd place run in the 60 in 8.80.

Senior Rebecca Brock turned in a ninth-place run in the 800 in 2:37.47 while sophomore Brie Caggiano was 12th in 3:05.01. Senior Rachel Seligson ran the mile in 6:39.50 to finish fifth. 

Freshman Rachel Schuurman's best mark in the shot put was 7.36 to place 15th.
