Wildcats return to track at CU's Potts Invite

BOULDER - The Johnson & Wales University women's track and field team returned to competition for the first time in nearly a month Saturday at the Potts Invitational hosted by the University of Colorado. 

Senior Catherine Carbeck had a pair of top-25 finishes, placing 20th in the 60-meter dash in 8.56 seconds and 25th in the 200 in 28.32. Freshmen Mikayla Hummons and Jenny Seda also both ran the two sprint events. Hummons was 21st in the 60 in 8.68 and 24th in the 200 with a time of 28.25. Seda placed 23rd (8.96) and 30th (30.83) in the two events. 

The Wildcats also had two runners compete in the 1 mile. Seniors Rebecca Brock and Rachel Seligson finished back-to-back in 21st and 22nd place, respectively. Brock crossed in 6:25.98 while Seligson clocked in at 6:36.67. 

JWU return to action next Saturday at the Scott Nisely Memorial Indoor Classic at Doane University in Crete, Neb.
