'Cats fall at Colorado College

Johnson & Wales closed out the regular season on the road at #6 Colorado College on Friday night.

After a back and forth start to the first set the Tigers went ahead 11-7 on JWU. JWU scored three straight points to come within one before CC went back up 16-11. The 'Cats continued to chip away but the Tigers held on for the 25-17 win.

In the second set the Tigers jumped out to an 8-2 lead and had the early momentum. The Wildcats were able to only break up the scoring runs by the Tigers as CC powered their way to a 25-13 win. In the third the Tigers started on a 6-1 run to set the tone of the final set. The Wildcats broke up the runs by Colorado College but the Tigers kept pushing ahead on their way to the 25-15 win and 3-0 sweep.

Kelley McLain (Simi Valley, Calif.) tied a match high seven kills for Johnson & Wales and Ashlee Ruehs (Phoenix, Ariz.) finished with 20 assists. Sierra Joyner (Oxnard, Calif.) and Brittney Mukhar (Lancaster, Calif.) had 17 and 11 digs respectively. CC's Abbe Holtze had seven kills and Rebecca Watson had 26 assists.
