Volleyball tripped up by Friends

DENVER -- The Johnson & Wales University volleyball team fell 3-0 to visiting Friends on Saturday in the Mile High Challenge at the Wildcat Center.

Senior Ashlee Ruehs filled the stat sheet with 10 kills, nine assists and four digs to lead JWU Denver (0-3). Jana Boston totaled 28 assists to pace the Falcons (2-5). 

Freshman Hope Hines added seven kills and 11 digs while senior Brooke Paxton and freshman Sierra Martin had five kills apiece. 

JWU was unable to slow the Friens' attack, as the Falcons hit .330 for the match and .429 in the second set. The Wildcats finished with eight serving aces, two each by Martin, Paxton and sophomore Jacquelyn Ortiz

The Wildcats wrap up the Mile High Challenge on Saturday evening against Wayland Baptist.
