Volleyball drops Colorado College Invite opener

COLORADO SPRINGS - The Johnson & Wales University volleyball team opened the Colorado College Invitational on Friday with a 3-0 loss (25-19, 25-18, 25-15) to Randolph-Macon. 

Senior Booke Paxton set a season high with 16 kills to lead the Wildcats (2-19, 0-9). Sophomore Jacquelyn Ortiz finished with 22 assists and seven digs while classmate Kaitlin Jones totaled 10 digs. Freshman Hope Hines added six kills and seven digs for JWU Denver. 

Randolph-Macon was strong on the attack throughout, finishing with a .299 hitting percentage, led by Grace Parkers' 12 kills. 

The Wildcats continued the tournament Friday against Illinois College.
