DENVER - The Johnson & Wales University volleyball team recognized two of the best players in program history during Sunday's Senior Day match against visiting DePauw.

With still plenty of matches left in their season to add to their legacies, seniors Brooke Paxton and Ashlee Ruehs rank among the program's all-time leaders in several categories. Ruehs is the team's leader in career assists while Paxton ranks second in digs.

Unfortunately, Sunday's Senior Day non-conference match was won by the visiting DePauw Tigers in straight sets (25-17, 25-17, 25-17).

Paxton paced the Wildcats with nine kills and 13 digs while Ruehs had eight kills on 15 attempts and two block assists.

Freshman Hope Hines finished with six kills and six digs for JWU Denver while sophomore Kaitlin Jones totaled 11 digs with classmate Jacquelyn Ortiz racking up 21 assists and seven digs.

JWU returns to SCAC play next weekend at Trinity University with matches against St. Thomas and Trinity on Friday, followed by contests with Texas Lutheran and Austin on Saturday.
