Volleyball drops match to Schreiner

SHERMAN, TX - The Johnson & Wales University volleyball team opened the weekend with a 3-0 loss (25-22, 25-11, 25-16) to Schreiner on Saturday.

The Wildcats dropped a tough first set after holding 21-20 lead late and couldn't recover as the Mountaineers hit .268 and .361 in in the final two sets to put the match away. 

Sophomore Jacquelyn Ortiz totaled 19 assists and classmate Kaitlin Jones finished with 28 digs for JWU Denver (2-26, 0-14). 

Senior Brooke Paxton led the offense with nine kills while classmate Ashlee Ruehs and freshman Hope Hines added four each to go with a combined 15 digs.
