Volleyball falls to Centenary in 4 sets

SHERMAN, TX - The Johnson & Wales University volleyball team wrapped up the weekend at Austin College with a 3-1 (25-14, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20) loss to Centenary College.

After dropping the first set, the Wildcats (3-28, 1-16 SCAC) evened the match with a three-point win in set 2, punctuated by one of 15 kills in the match by Hope Hines. JWU's attack couldn't sustain its momentum in the final two sets despite a 16-kill performance by senior Brooke Paxton and a 35-assist effort by junior Jacquelyn Ortiz

JWU also got six kills from senior Ashlee Ruehs and five from freshman Hunter Halbower. Junior Kaitlin Jones finished with a team-high 25 digs. 

The Wildcats wrap up the 2019 season Friday at Colorado College.
