Volleyball falls short vs. No. 8 Colorado College to cap 2019 season

COLORADO SPRINGS - The Johnson & Wales University volleyball team wrapped up the 2019 season with a 3-0 loss (25-16, 25-15, 25-15) to No. 8 Colorado College on Friday night at Reid Arena. 

Senior Brooke Paxton paced the JWU Denver attack with eight kills while freshman Hope Hines had six. Sophomore Jacquelyn Ortiz dished out 17 assists and classmate Kaitlin Jones finished with 13 digs for the Wildcats, who finished the year 3-18 and 1-17 in conference play. 

The Tigers (29-3, 17-1)  avoided the upset by closing out each set strong, tallying the final three points in Set 1, the final five points in Set 2 and ending the match on a 6-2 run.
