Johnson & Wales hit the road for a Saturday morning race at Fort Hays State University in Kansas. The 2016 Tiger Invitational featured two women's races with Johnson & Wales featuring in the black race with other NAIA programs.
Samantha Barela (Colorado Springs, Colo.) finished the 5K course in fourth place at 18:23. Jessie Faron (Auburn, Ind.) finished in 23rd at 19:21 followed by Olivia Redmann (Englewood, Fla.) in 33rd at 19:43.
Brandi Williams-Beck (San Antonio, Texas) crossed the finish line at 24:45 in 155th followed by Sarah Hellwig (Pasadena, Calif.) in 163rd at 28:32.
The Wildcats finished with a score of 280 points to place 10th overall among the 19 teams in the Black race. Cowley County Community College took home the team title with a score of 83.
The 'Cats will take part in the 2016 RMAC Championship Open Race on October 22 at Black Hills State University before they host the A.I.I. Championships on November 5.
