Seligson leads 7 Wildcats at SCAC Championships

WIDEFIELD, CO - Senior Rachel Seligson paced the Johnson & Wales University women's cross country team at Saturday's SCAC Championships. 

Running in her final cross country race as a Wildcat, Seligson finished 29th with a time of 26 minutes, 31.9 seconds in the 6-kilometer race at Widick Field.

Competing in cross country for the first time for JWU Denver, senior Rebecca Brock placed 36th individually in 27:33.6. Freshman Savannah Hadley made her conference championship debut, finishing with a time of 29:02.3 to place in the top 50. 

Also racing in their first SCAC Championship, freshman Nicole Lenners was 55th in 32:11.7 and junior Teagan Gutka was 58th in 35:10.4 to round out the scoring for the Wildcats, who placed seventh as a team with 165 points. 

The Wildcats had seven finishers on Saturday as freshman Jenny Seda clocked in at 40:58.6 and classmate Sophie Norfleet in 41:07.0.

Host Colorado College won the team title with a score of 30, followed by Trinity (43) and Dallas (103). Dallas' Anna Wilgenbusch won the individual championship by a healthy margin with a time of 22:55.5.
